Our Retreat Home

Monte Mariposa is a residential retreat centre nestled in the heart of the Algarve, held within a quiet and beautiful valley that naturally invites slowing down, listening, and reconnection. Surrounded by nature and open skies, the land offers a deeply tranquil environment for our journey together.

The space is simple and rural designed to support presence and connection to the land. Wooden cabins are placed around the valley, centered around a Thai-style shala, outdoor kitchen, and open-air gathering areas. The land also holds a swimming pool and a sweat lodge, all woven harmoniously into the natural landscape.

During our retreat, the valley will be home to our circle of women, with accommodation for up to 24 participants. We will be staying in 13 cosy wooden bungalows, each offering two beds. Private use of a bungalow is also available for those who desire more personal space.

The facilities are basic, functional, and comfortable, reflecting a close-to-nature way of living. Bathrooms and showers are shared and located outdoors, inviting a gentle return to simplicity and connection with the elements. The bungalows themselves are small, warm, and intimate — spaces to rest, ground, and integrate the day’s experiences.

Monte Mariposa is not a luxury retreat centre, but a grounded and authentic one. It offers a holding that is humble and earthy — a place where comfort is found in simplicity, community, and the quiet intelligence of the land.
